In a moment caught on camera during the broadcast, Swift, 35, and Jay-Z, 55, were smiling as they clinked their champagne glasses together and said “cheers.” This is the first time the “Halo” singer has won in the category.
Swift, Beyoncé, André 3000,Sabrina Carpenter,Billie Eilish,Charli XCX, Jacob Collier andChappell Roanwere nominated for the coveted award.

Earlier in the night, Beyoncé, 43, won the award for best country album andbest country duo/group performancefor her collaboration withMiley Cyrus, “II Most Wanted," before the telecast. Ahead of the awards show, Beyoncé became the single most-nominated artist in the history of the ceremonywith 99 nominations.
Swift, who went into the night with six nominations, ended up going home empty-handed.
