Scott Disick in Running Point, Season 1 Episode 7: A Special Place in Hell

If it was up toKate Hudson,Scott Disickwould be in more than just a few minutes ofRunning Point.

“It was just fun,” Hudson, 45, tells PEOPLE of Disick’s cameo. “We were just like, in that moment, who would be the person that would be the most random person to witness [Isla] get hit in L.A.? It was Scott.”

The actress, who plays the newly-appointed president of L.A.’s NBA team, the Waves, in the series, says there was “a lot of stuff happening” amid Disick’s cameo, but she and her castmates felt like they “could do a whole thing with Scott.”

“I want it to be longer,” she says of his appearance. “I’m glad he came through. It was so fun.”

The cameo happened during a scene with Hudson,Drew Tarveras her brother Sandy and Nicole Sullivan as Bonnie Bugg, the overbearing mom of Waves player Travis Bugg (Chet Hanks), who Isla briefly employed before things went south.

She was also drawn to the fact thatRunning Pointis “a much more full, honest portrayal of a woman’s life than just the pursuit of love.”

“Look, don’t get me wrong, I love a rom-com. I love when it’s all about the relationships,” she said. “But to do a comedy set in such a high-stakes environment that’s about family dynamics — to me, [that] is just so much fun.”
