“I can tell you I’m doing way better than I was when it first happened,” Chiles said on the morning show. “I definitely can only do so much for myself is really focus on my mental and really knowing that I’ve been at UCLA and really competing with the team has really helped with that.”
Chiles, who also wona gold medal with Team USA in Paris, continued, “I’m going to continue to fight and understand that I can only control what I can do with myself and let everything else just be on the back end of whether my lawyer, my attorney are continuing to do whatever they can to fight for that.”

“Again, I can’t control what happens at the end of the day. I just know what’s right with me and that I’m always going to continue to look forward,” she added.
Chiles had made history in Paris as part of thefirst all-Black Olympic gymnastics podiumwhen she stood proudly alongside Brazil’s gold medalist Rebeca Andrade and her silver-medalist USA teammateSimone Biles.
During the Aug. 5 individual floor exercise competition, where Chiles initially finished in fifth place, her coach filed an appeal, citing a scoring error. As a result, she was bumped up to third place.
