“Taylor and I are so excited,” Young tells PEOPLE exclusively. “We didn’t care one way or the other, but there’s something about knowing that it’s a girl that makes it even more real. We are so blessed and can’t wait to meet this beautiful little girl!”

Young and Taylor, 31,shared their pregnancy news exclusively with PEOPLEon April 6, when the country star — whose hit"Here Tonight"is currently sitting at No. 1! — explained that the pair “have always shared the same heart for wanting a family.”
“I love knowing that we get to give this little one an amazing life, and I just can’t wait for the future ahead of us as a family. We are so blessed!” he said.
The newlyweds — whotied the knot in November— discovered they were expecting in early February, after Taylor decided to take a pregnancy test “on a whim” after the two had flown to Las Vegas to spendSuper Bowlweekend with friends and family.
“I was in shock when it read positive. I really just didn’t believe what I was seeing,” she recalled. “After it sunk in, I was so happy and so overwhelmed that I just started crying — happy tears of course! Brett and I hugged, kissed and talked for hours about how long we had been wanting this and how excited we are to become parents.”

The dad-to-be was all smiles on April 7 as he and his pregnant wife posed for photos ahead of the2019 ACM Awardsin Las Vegas, wearing a creatively checkered suit. Taylor, meanwhile, rocked a three-quarters-sleeve purple minidress, completing the look in silver heels and a matching clutch.
Of deciding to start a family so soon after their nuptials, Taylor explained, “We’veknown each other for quite a whileand at our age, I think we were just ready to start a family. We’re like, ‘We’ve lived a pretty good, fun, selfish life!’ So I think we’reready to take the next step.”
