On Tuesday, Blanchard, 32, announced that the couple had adopted a puppy named Pixie.

In an Instagramvideotitled “New Puppy Mom,” Blanchard showed off the dog, an 8-week-old Malchi puppy, to her over 8 million followers.

“I want to introduce you guys to someone very special,” she began the video, and held the tiny, black-and-white pup up to the camera. “She is a sweetheart and she’s already spoiled rotten.”

After putting Pixie back down so she could sleep, Blanchard revealed that she and Anderson had adopted her about three nights ago.

“We went to PetSmart, bought everything she could possibly need,” she recalled, before showing a picture of the pup sleeping on her new bed on her first night in their home.

“I had like that much part of the bed,” she added with a laugh, motioning to a tiny spot.

For those hoping for more Pixie content already, Blanchard assured her followers that there are “many many more puppy videos and pictures” to come, adding that “any tips on potty training would be great!”

Since herrelease from prison last monthafter serving eight of 10 years, the couple has been open about wanting to expand their family.

Before her release, Blanchard told PEOPLE she has goals of starting a family and having kids. Since she had a fraught relationship with her own mother — and never lived with herfather, Rod, andstepmother, Kristy— she said people have questioned what kind of mother she’ll be, which has hurt her feelings.

“Whenever someone says, ‘Do you think that because of what you went through, you’re going to do that to your kids?’ And I said, ‘You know what? Absolutely not. I have learned what not to do,’ " she told PEOPLE.

Blanchard also cited Anderson’s mother and her own stepmother as strong women she can model her parenting after.

“I have other mother figures that are around in my life, friends that are mothers,” she told PEOPLE. “So I have a lot of good people around me to pull advice from when that time comes. I don’t think that there’s going to be a manual that says, ‘You’ve won mom of the year,’ but I definitely have no concerns about, I think, my parenting when it comes to that time.”
