I ca n’t conceive that Futurama took this long to make fun of Germany . At last — at long , long , last — the fourth dimension has amount . Do n’t let the Fry and Leela relationship element of this sequence put you off . This is a big one .
“ Fun on a Bun , ” is exactly what it promises to be . The gang guide over to Oktoberfest , launching a series of delightful jest at Germany ’s disbursement . It starts with the sign for Oktoberfest , “ Lulling Other land Into a False mother wit of Security Since 1810 , ” nose through a bunch of funniness signs at the fete , and wind up with hearing a German refer to the woolly-haired mammoth as “ Schnoofleoopugus . ” Fry comes ready to party , but in the last thousand years , Oktoberfest has morph into a celebration of the culture and taste of German refinement . It comes terminated with tiny sip of artisan beer that are meant to be sampled and spit out , refined mesa manners , and foodie sausages .
Bender ’s cooking instinct inspire him to enter a sausage competitor , and he searches out a mammoth freeze in a glacier to put in his sausage balloon . An accident makes it look like Fry got caught in the sausage maker , and Leela mistakenly ate her own swain . Actually Fry was thrown cleared and detect a confused world of Neanderthals beneath the chalk , where they hid because the homo sapiens were aggressive and did n’t want to multiply together to form a combine species . A striking to fountainhead give Fry amnesia and deforms his brow , and so he figures that he ’s a Neanderthal , too . After all , he say , “ I have obscure memories of the great unwashed reject to breed with me . ”
Meanwhile , Leela , deranged by the theme that she ate the man she loved , goes to a clinic that severs , but does n’t destroy , all the retention she has of Fry . This puts the relaxation of the crew in the fine bunglesome locating of never mentioning their dead colleague or anything that might remind her of him . When Bender ’s blimp place in a competition and sends them back to Oktoberfest , and Fry decides to conduct an ravishment on the human universe , the two are on the course to meet again . At that point , there ’s only about three minutes leave in the episode , so everyone knows what will befall when they see each other .
This instalment was so much fun , all the way through . I ’ve note Futurama ’s pile gags before . Not everyone likes them , but I cogitate they ’re imaginative . This instalment , though , had one that ’s perfect . Little routine of entropy are set up throughout the installment , a prominent placing of an target here , a mentioning of it there , so that when it happens it has the effect of a perfect punchline . I watched it over and over again , and it was funny every clip . specially in slow motility . This is unquestionably one to check .
