Ridley Scott is coming back to scientific discipline fable after a quarter century , and we ’ve just seen our first glance of his Modern plastic film Prometheus . The good newsworthiness is , it ’s intense , sweaty , scary and beautiful — and intended to scare your pants off .

Here in Comic - Con ’s Hall H , we watch a special featurette about Ridley Scott ’s unexampled alien movie . The featurette starts with a pastiche of retiring Ridley Scott films , and then the title visiting card , “ RIDLEY SCOTT return TO THE GENRE HE REDEFINED , WITH AN ORIGINAL SCIENCE FICTION EPIC PROMETHEUS . ” At first , you see Ridley standing in a studio apartment , and then in a heavy heart-to-heart space with eldritch rib on the rampart , and Scott enjoin , “ So here we are , I ’m back again . ” He explicate that it ’s a James Bond studio apartment ( Pinewood ) and he could fit seven and a half giant jets in here .
And then the factual footage from the movie offset , and its a huge photoflood of creeptastic imagination that recall Alien but also a flake of 2001 : A Space Odyssey . There are guys in pressure courtship exploring an ancient chamber with weird hieroglyphic , and a guy in a spacesuit walking through a sliding threshold into a clean white chamber . And a guy ( who might be Michael Fassbender ) pulling a weird jelly - looking affair out of a canister . And as Ridley Scott ’s voiceover notes that thing that may look pocket-sized in the film will turn out to be crucial , there is a shot of a drop of blood on a finger . There is Charlize Theron on a table with bandages wrapped around her knocker , as though she ’s waking from hypersleep .
And then the footage beat firm and more furious , with a guy in a visor looking down at something , a womanhood in a suit walking into a red entranceway , and a orb , and then Scott tell , “ The cast find an organization which is not what they expected it to be , it ’s a civilization but what we find in it is very uncivilized conduct . ” And then there is insane butchery and people with goop inside their space helmets and someone shooting a flamethrower , and havoc breaking loose in confined spaces . Meanwhile , Scott ’s voiceover is saying that there will be biomechanoids and the film will “ break new ground . ” We see a elephantine pale satellite with rings around it .
And then we see Charlize Theron doing pushup au naturel . Says Scott in the TV , “ There is a deoxyribonucleic acid of the original Alien , [ but ] that ’s as far as it goes , everything else is completely different . It ’s all about everything . ” And now the people in the footage are cry and screaming and freaking out and the video recording is flickering like an off-and-on signal . And Scott conclude , “ Of naturally , what i desire to do is scare the living shit out of you . ”
Damon Lindelof , who was moderating the panel , talked about experience the call from Ridley Scott inquire him to work on this movie , and the farsighted process of the two of them sit across the table from each other hash out this flick . At first , the “ $ 64,000 motion ” was whether this was an Alien prequel , but eventually they incite past that .

At first , she comes across like a suit , very frigid and cold , it seems that it ’s all about the economics for her — she does n’t really descend from one side or the other , she ’s not a scientist or a believer . She runs a tight ship . But you may severalize that she ’s going to be a problem . And then afterward … We had all form of layered her and give her [ hidden depths ] . You intend you know who she is [ but she ’s an enigma ] . Ridley start up doing this interesting matter , where he would have me stand in corners and lurk all the metre , and it wound up being really mysterious .
