What ’s your favorite scene from the episode ?
My preferent scene is the one that I ’m in . I ’m a huge Star Trek sports fan . An creative person drew a version of me and I voiced the character dressed as a Star Trek … some might say fan , some might say eccentric person . And I have a short bit of a runnel in after with Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes , so that ’s belike my pet view .

The best line of dialogue is what Stewie says to the cast at the goal of the episode . I ’m not going to give it forth . [ In the episode , Stewie ] does n’t get to ask his doubt at the Star Trek convention , so he kidnaps all of them and he has a little act of a journeying with them and his last words to them are very suspicious , but I ’m not die to give it away .
Why do an episode with The Next Generation drop now ?
You could have ask , last week , why we did Back To The Future reference in the show . Seth and I are huge fans of Star Trek , and we realized that while there have been pile of episodic video that brought back the form of the original serial , in fact , I wrote one of them for Futurama . Seth and I recognise that nobody had really reunited The Next Generation , and many of them had appeared on our show . Next Generation was a tremendously democratic show . We ’re not going to cite the most pop and current shows . Our blood line in trade are our own memories of those display we watched when we were younger .
Would you do a Terminator lampoon ?
We ’ve done a few little Terminator gag , we ’ve develop one ( I think ) come up . But our big film things come up , we did the Empire Strikes Back . And we ’re doing all three of the Star Wars films , and we from time to time do piddling reference in the series … . We have an instalment with Tootsie coming up next year . No plans at the instant to do the Terminator .
The installment is call “ Not All Dogs Go To Heaven , ” how much is Brian in this sequence ?
There are two stories run on in the episode . One tale follow Meg and Brian . Meg discover god , she finds religion and is giving Brian a hard time for his godlessness . And when we developed that story we realized that Stewie does n’t have a big role to play . So we train that and two tale tie together in the beginning , when the kin proceed to the Star Trek convention , and Stewie does n’t get to demand his inquiry , so he spend a penny a transporter in his room for the cast . Meg and Brian focus on religion , which is a depicted object we ’ve draw near before , but this has a newfangled twist on it . We were strike by the fact that in America godlessness is count bad ( by some multitude ) than Muslim extremism . That was an interesting subject for us .
Any fortune of a Battlestar Galactica episode in the hereafter ?
I do n’t eff if we ’ll do a whole episode , but there may be a jape .
What ’s the update on Star Wars ?
I believe , but I ’m not 100 % positive , that Empire Strikes Back – that installment will air at the end of next season , and may be released before then . That movie was a very dissimilar movie from the original Star Wars , so our sequel will be a lot different and have of new characters , and a lot of enceinte jokes that we throw in . We ’re very well-chosen with how the first one turn out , so we had to set the bar was very gamey for the sequel … We ’re a little bit early to start on the third one , but the bar is set that much higher .
But you ’ll have Ewoks for the third .
There are Ewoks to mock . And when we get to the third one and there may be characters from other show that show up since we were sort of flow out of the original show . So characters from American Dad and mayhap the Cleveland Show will show up in the first one .
Will there be any other roll reuniting on Family Guy , from other Star Trek serial publication ?
You never know . Seth is a vast Star Trek fan , he ’s follow all the serial publication . He was on Enterprise when I was there . I would n’t necessarily reckon on it , but you never know .
Were there any jokes or issues that you had to address ( as a trekkie and as a writer ) to any of the characters on the show , such as Geordi La Forge or Tasha Yar ?
Yes there is a Tasha Yar joke in the episode , it ’s pretty obvious from the moment she opens her sassing . Denise was very game about it , and anyone who is familiar with the serial will get it right away . Anybody who is not , it ’s just queer as a joke on its own . For me , the 2d shot that my theatrical role is I am pontificating about a bit of Star Trek cannon . I ’m having an literary argument with another Star Trek fan , which is really a real argument that Star Trek buff have , so I was very proud of to put that in .
What was the argument ?
I ’m croak to vocalise like a real Star Trek fan . In the episode “ Relics , ” the character of Scotty is pulled out of suspend invigoration , and he says , “ Oh I ’m just waiting for Captain Kirk to cull me up ” and then we discover out after The Next Generation ended that Captain Kirk exit and Scotty was there . So why , in that episode , did he opine Captain Kirk was going to blame him up if he saw him pop off ? And of course , the solvent is that they had n’t made the picture yet or made that decision . But there is also a possible account which I bid as a cartoon grapheme and I was very pleased to do it .
Did the actors get all of the jokes ?
They all did . I do n’t think we were peculiarly cruel to anybody . It was a blithesome joke at them . As a grouping , they could not have had a better sense of humor . Which you do n’t always find with role player . A lot of actors do n’t care to play themselves , they do n’t wish to parody themselves . But this group was just the opposite – they were all just terrific .
