I hear the same rumors you did , that the writers of that projection were n’t supposed to have made the big announcement when they did . No villains needed in this version . No smoke gun . retrieve , this is the eld where fairy tale and folklore base stories are in the air . “ Fables ” did n’t start it . In that luminosity , it would be harder to think situations where there were n’t plenty of similar projects making the stave .

Just to reiterate that there ’s no war here . If you like “ Fables , ” you need n’t dislike “ Once , ” and frailty versa . get together me in wallowing in all of it . And then take a look at all the other grand poppycock out there right now , or coming down the throughway . Along with “ Fables , ” read “ Kill Shakespeare ” and “ The Unwritten , ” “ Memorial , ” “ Mice Templar ” and “ Mouse Guard . ” show “ The Stuff of Legend ” and “ Castle Waiting ” and all the other precious stone in the same general family . It ’s the new age of old time stories . Along with “ Once , ” I ’m looking forward to “ Snow White and the Huntsman ” and “ Mirror , Mirror . ” There ca n’t be enough different takings on this character , which very much mirror the way of life it operate in the olden days . The Brothers Grimm did n’t pull together one version of every folktale ; they let out dozens of versions of each one , because it ’s the nature of folklore to be altered to fit every unlike folk who wants to make use of it . Why should today be any unlike ?
