Image ’s Analog is the kind of easy - dystopian future that we do n’t see nearly enough of in literary genre fabrication . On Christmas morning in the year 2020 , former NSA agentive role Jack McGinnis singlehandedly spark the Great Doxing , the moment when all of the reality ’s cloud server were exploited and brought to their knees , queer every unmarried person in the world ’s darkest secrets .
The Great Doxxing brings about an odd mix of ultra societal changes that basically shape globose culture , and yet everyone ( as first ) seems to be making the best of a weird , awkward situation .
While people like pedophiles whose display secret wrick them into societal castaway , others , like deceiver and crook , but decide to say “ have intercourse it , ” because everyone knows fundamentally everything about one another and there ’s no longer any point to trying to cover thing . McGinnis knows that his actions undoubtedly play a direct role in the ruination of hundreds of mass ’s lives , but he also powerfully believes that the domain he find himself in is a better spot because of what he did .
Still , the novel reality come with new rules and , for McGinnis , the want to line up a new source of income , so he puts his old skills to habituate and becomes a Ledger Man , one of the secretive messengers who transports sensitive information that does n’t exist anywhere in what ’s leave of the digital world . In his time trotting across the Earth , Meth witnesses all of the evils and atrocities world are capable of , making it slightly easier for him to understand just why they were expelled from Eden in the first place .
