New York ’s Museum of Modern Art wo n’t expose the early work of choreographer Ted Shawn — so Adam H. Weinert is doing it for them . surprisal ! MoMa just got a lasting unauthorized expo that display performances inside the museum through an augmented realness app .
Weinert explains that while Shawn gave his plant to MoMA , the museum give them forth . So his firearm is a protection to Shawn , however belated :
Shawn made a gift of his works to MoMA in the 1940 ’s , but the museum afterward give away these materials to the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts . Weinert contends that if he had been view an “ Artist ” they would not have been able to do so . MoMA ’s own policy are such that they do not sell or give away oeuvre by living artists and Shawn was living at the clip of his deaccession .

Now stage dancing is n’t something you could so easy show off in a museum environment . But Weinert has found a way to make it work , using an app on your smartphone or pill . Download the Dance - Tech Augmented Reality app foriOSorAndroid , and spread it up when you figure the museum .
When you walk through the mansion of the topographic point , certain structural feature film like a stairwell or a sign — things that are permanent — will tip the app to commence playing Shawn ’s stage dancing , as performed by Weinert . you may see all the charge on Weinert ’s new website , The Reaccession of Ted Shawn , which just launch this morning .

MoMA has no idea this is happening . Who knows what its chemical reaction will be . I chatted with Weinert earlier this hebdomad , and he said he had declare oneself this project to MoMa in the first place this year , but it had turn it down . So he took matters into his own hired hand . Visit MoMa , and visit his site , to see it out . [ The Reaccession of Ted Shawn ]
